The
DIGILAB 1Kx208 provides an easy start on the subject of Programmable Logic. Yet
100.000 gates, Flash, SRAM and a wealth of interfaces enable the implementation
of complex systems, e.g. with Altera's 16- or 32-bit embedded processors. The
DIGILAB 1Kx208 comes with a design example that features a pre parameterized
16-bit NIOS RISC processor. This core includes ROM, UART, parallel ports,
interfaces to RAM and FLASH, as well as a 16-bit interface for custom on-chip
functions. With this kit you're enable to build your own SOC (System On Chip)
projects. For
example it is possible to implement a feature rich MP3 studio, that supports
playback from hard disk as well as recording from line-in, CD-ROM or microphone.
(Software development for NIOS additionally requires EXCALIBUR-NIOS or
NIOS-GNUPRO from Altera)
